101 in 1001: Update

Happy Fri-yay, y’all!

As promised, here is my first update on my 101 things in 1001 days.

Obviously the first item crossed off the list, creating a list of 101 things. I have included personal goals, travel, financial, as well as health. I am off to a great start seeing as I have cross eight items off in two weeks.

“Spring clean” all social media accounts — Basically I went through Facebook and cleaned up my friend’s list and my timeline. Then I took to Instagram, unfollowed anyone I deemed to be “negative.” Finally, Twitter. I follow a lot of people on Twitter, before cleaning up my following list, there were a bunch of immature people I followed and now I follow some of the most positive and inspirational people I have ever come across.

Make the Dean’s list — Well, I made the Dean’s list for the fall semester! This is the first time I have made over a 3.5 GPA since community college. I am so thrilled! I hope to achieve this again for this semester so I can be corded on stage at graduation in May!

Unsubscribe from unnecessary email lists — This one was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I used this site called unroll.me which takes all the hard work of you going through each email to unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe from all the unnecessary subscriptions at one time!

Watch an entire TV series — The series I watched was Army Wives. Technically, I kind of cheated but I watched 75% of the series after making this list. If you haven’t watched the series, you need to. It’s amazing. I watched the series on Lifetime as it came out week-by-week but received seasons 1-4 on DVD for Christmas 2013 and Valentine’s Day 2014; seasons 5-7 had to be watched on Netflix but it was worth it.

Wake up early, just because, for a week — After experiencing the weirdest sleep schedule, I invested in ZZZQuil. This stuff is the bomb. For the last week, I’ve been falling asleep before 11pm and waking up at 8am, if not earlier. I hope I can keep up this routine because I feel so refreshed when I wake up!

Go “heatless” on my hair for a week — Let’s be honest, we all know styling our hair puts some damage on it after awhile. I am not one to do my hair everyday. And after my hair fiasco last week, I straightened my hair the day after just to see what my hair looks like and have not blow dried, straightened, or curled it since.

Have a “five minutes or less” makeup routine –Again, being honest. We are all crunched for time at some point or another but we also don’t want to walk out of the house looking a hot mess… well, I do most of the time, until I discovered a five minute routine that helps a lot! If you want more details, I can possibly do a YouTube video to show y’all.

So far I am off to a great start! I update my 101 in 1001 page whenever I complete a goal so keep checking back. I can’t wait to cross more items off my list in the next few months (like celebrating our three year anniversary, graduating, and even moving!)
